Be:longing - Belonging in a Diverse Urban Society

A discussion series as part of the Manfred-Rommel-Stipendium der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart together with the StadtPalais - Museum für Stuttgart

The word be:longing already captures the ambivalence of the feeling: 'Being' describes someone's self-perception in the present, while 'longing' represents the yearning to be part of a community that excludes. Belonging, therefore, is something that is ongoing, never completed. This discussion series brings together scholars and people from civil society to reflect on the various facets of belonging, including its contradictions. An interesting conversation and a plea for a tolerant, diverse society.
